David Linnear - Incumbent Candidate for Flossmoor School District 161
The children of Flossmoor School District 161 deserve the best education possible. As a member of the school board, I promise to continue providing leadership, advocating for excellence and asking the tough questions designed to demand thorough, transparent answers.
I am passionate about ensuring all our children get the best possible start in life. I will base decisions on what is best for district students.
A vote for me on April 4, 2023, (PUNCH 101) is a vote for dedicated, passionate and experienced leadership.

The Village of Flossmoor supports its schools. We need a board which reflects, backs and answers to the community. I am an advocate of music, world languages, STEM, STEAM, health and safety, and facilities improvements. We must support our teachers and staff members as they educate, but also administrators when the budget calls for fiscal restraint. We must have systems in place to properly evaluate our schools and education protocols and hold the system accountable.
In my career, I have demonstrated my ability to provide guidance and make tough decisions. I believe my experience and empathy for each child will continue to be assets to the board as it faces the educational challenges ahead. I look forward to working with parents and members of our community to secure quality education for all our students.

As the father of two boys attending Heather Hill, I am fully engaged in their learning and school activities. I am inspired to make a difference and apply what I’ve learned through my experiences in business, politics and healthcare to ensure the district is serving its students well, and equitably.
My experience as an engineer (40 plus years), project manager and businessman uniquely position me to bring a renewed perspective to the school board. I will apply my managerial experience to ask key questions, research viable solutions and negotiate agreeable outcomes. This broad knowledge and experience have prepared me to tackle the quality-of-education, equity and fiscal challenges facing the district, while representing a broad range of interests.
